Bucci Mane @Buccigross

Brian Dozier: 13th HR this August, most by a Twins player in a month since Hall-of-Famer Harmon Killebrew had 14 in June 1964.

Bucs rookie kicker Roberto Aguayo just made a 50-yard field goal, his longest of the preseason. Slick ball and all. Redskins leading 13-3.

Redskins running back Mack Brown has more rushing yards (130 yards) than the entire Buccaneers' offense and it's not even close. 22 yards of total offense through the first half for the Bucs. Mike Glennon 1-of-5 for -1 passing yards.

It's halftime at Raymond James Stadium and we've got some pee-wee football happening. They're having a hard time keeping this red and white team on the field, especially after one of the purple team's kids went all Deacon Jones and knocked their quarterback down about 15 yards back...

The Redskins wanted to see what Cullen Jenkins, 35 and signed Monday, had left. Tonight, he's doing what you'd expect of a 12-year vet: beating up on the backups. Jenkins has showed strength and quickness, even throwing in a spin move, in making plays in the backfield.

Shaun Hill left the Lions in free agency before 2014 in part to be closer to home. If he had stayed in Detroit, he would have had no chance of starting with Matthew Stafford the incumbent. Since then, he started eight games for St. Louis in 2014 and is slated to start in Minnesota due to Teddy Bridgewater's season-ending injury. Hill started 10 games in Detroit in 2010 when Stafford was injured and actually threw the pass that ended up creating the 'Calvin Johnson rule.'

Running back Mack Brown is giving the Redskins something else to consider tonight: Do they need to keep four running backs? Brown has run tough throughout camp, the one back who consistently gained yards after contact. He scored on a terrific 60-yard run tonight and has shown good vision. But if they keep four running backs, they can only keep three tight ends or eight offensive linemen. Both options are possibilities.

Isaiah Thomas schools Seahawks

The Seahawks held a free-throw shooting contest at practice today, and WR Tyler Lockett took home the team title, but there was a ringer who showed him up... Celtics All-Star Isaiah Thomas.

No Washington Redskins players sitting during the National Anthem at Raymond James Stadium tonight.

The National Anthem for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. No players sitting. No players for the Redskins were sitting either. It was a topic discussed quite a bit leaguewide this week after 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick sat during the National Anthem to protest the treatment of black citizens in America.

Redskins running back Rob Kelley, an undrafted free agent, continues to prove he belongs. On Washington's opening series vs. Tampa Bay, Kelley received excellent blocking. But he also made decisive cuts and showed excellent vision. There were two times he avoided negative carries for these reasons. He knows how to run the ball.

Tonight will be a good chance for rookie quarterback Nate Sudfeld to show more of what he can do. The Redskins do have people in the building who believe he can develop into a starter. He's had an inconsistent summer, but has size and a good arm. It's hard to imagine the Redskins risking him by trying to sneak him onto the practice squad.

Here's a crowd shot just minutes before kickoff at Raymond James Stadium where the Bucs and Redskins are about to play. Very wet and rainy. All fans in ponchos. Looks like they're still gonna go with the pyro.

The Saints placed CB Damian Swann on injured reserve Wednesday with an injury that ESPN's Adam Caplan reported was in the abductor area (but won't require surgery). Swann is not eligible to be designated for return this season since he was placed on IR before Week 1. Swann had a promising rookie year in 2015 that was cut short by concussions, but he struggled to progress this summer, partly due to injuries. The Saints replaced Swann by re-signing DT C.J. Wilson, one day after releasing him. Their signing of DE Paul Kruger is not official yet.
