Jeff Fisher was asked if the success of rookie quarterbacks has impacted the way the Rams are developing Jared Goff. "No," he said. "I spoke on that. I'm happy for young quarterbacks when they have success, but we have our own sense of timing here with him. The quarterbacks are having success because of injuries. As I mentioned last week, had we not had the injuries that we did in the league, probably all four of those quarterbacks either would be inactive or backups."

The Rams added 6-foot-7, 270-pound LB Lynden Trail to their practice squad, which had an open spot when DB Isaiah Johnson replaced CB Steve Williams on the active roster. Trail is from Norfolk State, spent last season on the Redskins and Texans practice squads.

ESPN Stats and Information

Before J.J. Watt's arrival in Houston, the Texans never made the playoffs and had the 5th-worst record in the NFL. Since he's come to Houston, the Texans have won three division titles and two playoff games. Their record of 44-39 since 2011 is tied with the Colts for the best in the AFC South.

Field Yates @FieldYates

Since entering the NFL in 2011, JJ Watt has racked up 76.0 sacks, 11 more than any other player during that stretch.

I love the new agreement that the NFL-AFCA decided with NFL clubs having more access to evaluate players earlier for the NFL draft process

With J.J. Watt's injury, it will be interesting to see how the Texans use Jadeveon Clowney. Houston has moved him around the front seven in the first three games, including at defensive end.
