Right tackle Mitchell Schwartz has not missed even one snap in his NFL career, now at four-plus seasons. He's likely to play for the Chiefs on Sunday against the Colts, but he will be held out of practice today because of an injured ankle.

Ravens coach John Harbaugh gave a strong (and long) defense of Joe Flacco's play this season: "I'm a Joe Flacco fan. I believe in Joe, and Joe is certainly on offense the key to the whole thing. Joe Flacco is a great football player. Joe Flacco is the key to our success. So, we need to all do everything in our power that all the things are falling in place for him. He can play. He can throw it. He can make decisions. He can score touchdowns for us. He can do all the things we need to do. We need to make sure that we give him a chance to do that. Joe will take care of what he needs to do. I'm not worried about Joe taking care of what he needs to do. Joe works on it harder than anybody. He cares about it more than anybody. We need to protect him. We need to run routes. We need to create confidence in our passing game. We need to run the ball well. We need to do the things we need to do to make the offense work. And Joe will make the offense work."

Matt Ryan said he's forgotten how many yards Julio Jones had against the Packers in 2014 -- it was 259 -- but "I remember he didn't even play the last 6 or 7 minutes of the game."

Ravens returner Devin Hester said his injury is his groin and not his thigh, which has been listed on the injury report. The injury has affected his ability to move laterally, according to Hester. "It's an injury that only time can heal," he said.

The Browns could have Josh McCown back at QB on Sunday. McCown said he will be able to do more in practice this week than he has, and will work with the first team. McCown is recovering from a broken collarbone incurred Sept. 18.

Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo is on the practice field for the first time since training camp but not in uniform Wednesday as he continues his comeback from a compression fracture in his back. He threw passes during the pat-and-go warmup, took some turns in individual drills and threw passes in routes in air during the open portion of practice to the media. Jason Garrett said Romo will not practice today but he has had some good rehab work over the last few days.

Still no Michael Oher at practice. The starting left tackle appears set to miss his fourth game with a concussion. Starting cornerback James Bradberry (toe) will be back. He told me on Monday the injury is healed and he's ready to get as many interceptions as he can over the final 10 games.
