Mixed opinions on UNC quarterback Mitch Trubisky (0:44)

Mel Kiper Jr. would like to have seen quarterback Mitch Trubisky play his senior year at North Carolina. The one-year starter will need some time to watch and learn before becoming an effective NFL quarterback. (0:44)

Editor's note: This mock draft was updated at 6 p.m. ET based on the latest information from sources in the league, including the Browns' decision that they plan to take Myles Garrett at No. 1.

Finally, it's NFL draft day. Soon I'll get to stop projecting picks, and teams will actually start making them.

But for now, it's my final first-round mock of draft season. A reminder: This is not a reflection of where I have players ranked. My final Big Board and Top 300 is here. This mock is simply a projection of where I think guys can come off the board based on what I'm hearing. And remember, these are the picks right now, and so trades could blow up everything.

Live coverage of the draft begins Thursday at 7 p.m. ET on ESPN and WatchESPN.

So everything I heard the last few days had Cleveland going with Mitchell Trubisky, but now it looks like Garrett will be the pick. Good. He's the best prospect in this draft, a brilliant, natural pass-rusher with elite size and athleticism.

2. San Francisco 49ers
