Research Notes

  • NEXT LEVEL: Matt Hasselbeck completed 6-of-8 passes against four or fewer pass rushers in the second half, including the game-tying touchdown to Kenny Britt late in the fourth quarter.

  • The Steelers fell to 0-3 on the road this season. The loss marks their first three-game road losing streak since 2009 and second 0-3 start on the road in the last 20 years. A big reason for their road difficulties is the play of the defense, and inability to stop opposing teams.

  • NEXT LEVEL: The Steelers did not attempt a rush outside the tackles Thursday, their lowest total since Week 4 of 2008 when they attempted one such rush against the Ravens. Entering Thursday, the Titans had allowed the sixth-most rush yards outside the tackles (211) and were tied with the Falcons for the most rush first downs allowed on such runs (15).--The Steelers running backs combined for 42 rush yards, their lowest since Week 1 of 2009 (33), also against the Titans.
