Research Notes

  • Josh Freeman threw two of his three touchdown passes on throws at least 15 yards downfield Sunday, giving him four such touchdowns this season (compared to 3 in 2011). Freeman is completing more passes thrown 15 or more yards downfield (55.6 percent), than he is on throws fewer than 15 yards (55.0 percent) this season.

  • Buccaneers wide receivers Vincent Jackson and Mike Williams accounted for more than half of the Bucs' receptions and receiving yards while hauling in all three receiving touchdown passes Sunday. Dominating the passing game is nothing new for this duo.

  • The Buccaneers tackled Chiefs running backs behind the line of scrimmage six times Sunday, all with their base 4-3 defense. Entering Week 6 the Bucs led the league in negative rush plays allowed (28) despite already having their bye week.
