Research Notes

  • From Elias:

  • From Elias:

  • NEXT LEVEL: Adrian Peterson set season highs with 153 rush yards, 69 yards after contact and a 6.7 yards per rush average. Peterson's 136 rushing yards between the tackles was not just his best total this season, but the fifth-highest total in a game this season.

  • NEXT LEVEL: The Giants only sent five or more pass rushers after Robert Griffin III on seven plays Sunday, and Griffin's ability to make plays with both his arm and legs nearly got the Redskins a win. Griffin scrambled down the right sideline for 24 yards against six pass rushers including a blitzing defensive back with 2:00 to play in the game, and threw a 30-yard go-ahead touchdown pass against six pass rushers two plays later to Santana Moss. Griffin finished 3-of-5 for 43 yards and a touchdown against the Giants' added pressure, plus the 24-yard scramble.

  • NEXT LEVEL: Alfred Morris rushed for career-high 120 yards Sunday against the Giants, with 112 of those yards between the tackles. That's the highest yardage total allowed inside the tackles by the Giants defense since Week 16 of 2009 (Jonathan Stewart, 133 yards). Morris averaged 5.6 yards per attempt between the tackles against the Giants, nearly one full yard above his season average entering the game (4.7).

  • Eli Manning's 77-yard game-winning touchdown strike to Victor Cruz was emblematic of his success all afternoon. Manning did not throw an interception downfield Sunday and averaged more than 25 yards per pass attempt. Entering the game, the Redskins had surrendered 34 completions on throws of at least 15 yards.
