Research Notes

  • NEXT LEVEL: Frank Gore set the 49ers career franchise rushing touchdown mark with a 2-yard score in the fourth quarter. All eight of Gore's rushing touchdowns this season have come with at least eight defenders in the box.

  • NEXT LEVEL: Colin Kaepernick was 3-of-4 targeting Michael Crabtree at least 15 yards downfield, and their 49-yard touchdown connection in the second quarter put Crabtree over the 1,000 receiving yard mark this season, making him the first 49ers receiver to reach that plateau since Terrell Owens in 2003. Crabtree was only targeted five times on such throws by Alex Smith this season, compared with 15 times with Kaepernick at quarterback.
