Among the topics they spoke about was their protests, how they believe they've been misunderstood and the difference between Kaepernick having social media now versus Abdul-Rauf wishing he had it 20 years ago. Abdul-Rauf, 47, protested the national anthem while playing for the Denver Nuggets in 1996 and was suspended one game by the NBA.
