Jason Garrett wants the Cowboys to use the disappointment of Sunday's loss to Green Bay "to fuel the fire to what we want to accomplish in 2017."

The Cowboys signed the following players to futures contracts: G Clay DeBord, G Kadeem Edwards, WR Shaquelle Evans, LB Jeremiah George, DE Lenny Jones, CB Sammy Seamster, DB Jameill Showers and RB Rod Smith, who ended the season on the practice squad. The team also signed: TE Connor Hamlett, CB Jeremiah McKinnon, CB Duke Thomas and LS Zach Wood.

Packers coach Mike McCarthy credited Aaron Rodgers for that final play to Jared Cook. "It's one of the greatest plays you'll ever seen in two minute, we call it the ‘final eight [plays],'" McCarthy said. "Great job by Aaron orchestrating that with the protection and the route selections."

The 49ers are now interviewing the other Seattle co-director of player personnel Scott Fitterer for their general manager job. The team spoke with Trent Kirchner earlier today. When they're done with Fitterer, they will have talked to nine possible general manager candidates. They are now expected to narrow the field and begin a second round of interviews before making a decision.
