Rookie running back Alvin Kamara has racked up 1,220 total yards and 11 touchdowns in only 12 games in coach Sean Payton's offense. This guy is a star for the Saints. But even with those numbers, New Orleans could get even more out of him. And it starts Thursday night with a key NFC South matchup against the Falcons (NBC, 8:25 p.m. ET).
Let's take a look at the NFL's most versatile offensive weapons and break down how each is being utilized, plus a few game plan adjustments that would highlight the talent of these guys even more. Here's what I see on Kamara and five more players who can create problems for opposing defenses:
How he stands out: With 606 yards rushing on just 86 attempts, Kamara is averaging a ridiculous 7.0 yards per carry. He plays with awesome balance and showcases his lower body control on contact. That allows him to slip tacklers at the point of attack, shake defenders at the second level, and cut the ball back to daylight. Great vision there, too.
