Cards apologize for sound glitch during Tillman tribute

PHOENIX -- The Arizona Cardinals have apologized for a
sound-system glitch that marred a tribute to Pat Tillman, who left
the NFL team to join the Army Rangers and died in Afghanistan in

Fans stood during halftime of last Sunday's game against the
Dallas Cowboys at University of Phoenix Stadium as Tillman's name
was added to the team's Ring of Honor.

A video montage on the stadium's giant screens was shown and
former teammates talked about Tillman's spirit and his legacy.

However, fans did not hear a word until the last segment.

The Cardinals posted an official apology on the team's Web site.

"Our intent was to provide a very special tribute to Pat, and
in the end we did not do that. We regret that very much," the
statement said.

The Cardinals said the video will be replayed before Sunday's
game against the Detroit Lions.
