Washington has surgery on left hip

ASHBURN, Va. -- Marcus Washington had arthroscopic surgery on his left hip, the second operation this offseason for the Washington Redskins linebacker.

Washington had surgery on his left elbow last month. His rehabilitation is expected to take three months, the team said Thursday, which could affect his participation when workouts resume in the spring.

Quarterback Mark Brunell (left shoulder), linebacker Rocky McIntosh (right knee), safety Vernon Fox (pectoralis muscle), defensive end Phillip Daniels (both ankles) and tight end Todd Yoder (left knee) have had surgeries since the Redskins' season ended in December.

Left tackle Chris Samuels will have left knee surgery following his appearance in the Pro Bowl this weekend in Hawaii. Defensive end Renaldo Wynn also has an upcoming operation on his right elbow.
