Saints' Bush starts after four-game absence with knee injury

TAMPA, Fla. -- New Orleans running Reggie Bush started Sunday against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers after missing the previous four games because of a knee injury.

Bush, who finished the 23-20 loss with no yards on three carries, hadn't played since tearing the meniscus in his left knee on Oct. 19 during a loss at Carolina and having arthroscopic surgery.

Bush also returned two punts for the Saints.

Safety Jermaine Phillips returned to Tampa Bay's lineup after missing three games with a forearm injury.

Receiver David Patten, fullback Mike Karney, cornerback David Pittman, running back Mike Bell, linebacker Marvin Mitchell, guard Jamar Nesbit and tackle Jermon Bushrod were inactive for the Saints, who also declared Joey Harrington the third quarterback.

Quarterback Brian Griese, receiver Dexter Jackson, running back Noah Herron, safety Donte Nicholson, linebacker Matt McCoy, tackle James Lee and defensive tackle Greg Peterson were inactive for Tampa Bay. Rookie Josh Johnson was the third quarterback.
