Lions boost special teams with Wesley

ALLEN PARK, Mich. -- The Detroit Lions have signed unrestricted free-agent cornerback Dante Wesley to a two-year contract.

The 31-year-old Wesley has played primarily on special teams in his eight seasons, seven with Carolina.

The Panthers selected Wesley in the fourth round, 100th overall, in the 2002 draft. He spent four seasons with Carolina, played for the Chicago Bears in 2006 and rejoined Carolina in 2007.
