NEW ORLEANS -- Saints officials say kickoff returner Courtney Roby has feeling in his extremities and was alert while taken from the field on a stretcher with an apparent upper body injury against St. Louis.
Roby appeared to be moving his arms and talking while paramedics attended to him Sunday. The Saints say he's been taken to a hospital for observation.
The injury occurred while Roby was returning a kickoff late in the second quarter. He fumbled on the tackle and players piled on top of him. The Rams recovered the ball at the Saints 21, but Saints safety Malcolm Jenkins had an interception for a 96-yard score soon after.
Saints defensive players swarmed around Roby to wish him well as the cart carrying him rolled off the field.
