Week 14: Studs & Duds

Brian Westbrook

As Westbrook goes, so go the Eagles. That was the case once again Sunday. Westbrook rushed for 131 yards on 33 carries and caught six passes for 72 yards to power the Eagles past the Giants 20-14. Westbrook ran for a 30-yard touchdown in the second quarter and caught a 40-yard TD pass from Donovan McNabb in the fourth.

Pierre Thomas

Thomas rushed for 102 yards and two TDs, including the game winner on a 5-yard sweep late in the fourth quarter, as the Saints defeated Atlanta 29-25. Thomas set up his winning score with an 88-yard kickoff return. He scored his first TD on a 7-yard screen early in the fourth quarter.

Matt Schaub

Playing his first game in a month because of a knee injury, Schaub was 28-of-42 for 414 yards and two TDs in the Texans' 24-21 victory at Green Bay. It was the first 400-yard passing game of Schaub's career.

Peyton Manning

Manning completed 26 of 32 passes for 277 yards and matched his season high with three TD passes as the Colts beat the beleaguered Bengals 35-3. After failing to lead Indianapolis to an offensive touchdown in Week 13 at Cleveland, Manning led the Colts on three TD drives of 69 yards or longer. Manning's 81.3 percent completion rate was the sixth-best of his career and best this season.

Roddy White

The Falcons lost to the Saints, but White continued to shine in his breakout season. White caught 10 passes for a career-high 164 yards, including a 59-yarder in the second quarter that set up Michael Turner's 5-yard touchdown run. White now has seven 100-yard games this season.

Wes Welker

Welker caught 12 passes for 134 yards, helping the Patriots rally for a 24-21 victory over the Seahawks. Welker had five catches on New England's game-winning TD drive late in the fourth quarter. It was the fourth time in five games Welker surpassed 100 yards receiving.

Brandon Marshall

Marshall caught 11 passes for 91 yards and two TDs as the Broncos took another step toward an AFC West title with a 24-17 victory over the Chiefs. Marshall's 6-yard TD catch from Jay Cutler broke a 17-17 tie with 10:10 left in the fourth quarter. Marshall's first TD catch was a 12-yarder in the second quarter.

Ed Reed

Reed spearheaded another outstanding defensive effort by the Ravens. Reed intercepted two Jason Campbell passes and returned a fumble 22 yards for a TD as Baltimore defeated Washington 24-10.

Tony Romo

Romo threw a season-high three interceptions, including one that was returned 26 yards by Deshea Townsend for the winning TD, in the Cowboys' crushing 20-13 loss at Pittsburgh. The Cowboys had a 13-3 fourth-quarter lead but twice stalled on drives that, if they had scored, probably would have sealed the victory. Romo finished 19-of-26 for 210 yards.

The Browns' run game

Down to their third-string quarterback because of injuries, the Browns needed a big day from their running game. They didn't get it. Cleveland rushed for only 35 yards on 19 carries in a 28-9 loss to the Titans. The Browns' leading rusher was WR Joshua Cribbs, who had 24 yards on six carries. Workhorse Jamal Lewis was held to 7 yards on seven carries.

The Bengals' offense

The Bengals' offensive woes continued in Week 14. In a blowout loss to the Colts, Cincinnati committed four turnovers and QB Ryan Fitzpatrick was sacked four times. The Bengals have been outscored 96-16 in their latest three-game losing streak and have not scored a touchdown in their past 11 quarters.
