HOUSTON (AP) -- Tampa Bay quarterback Jeff Garcia was inactive at Houston on Sunday with a bruised back, and Texans quarterback Matt Schaub was also inactive after dislocating his left shoulder last week.
It is the second straight game Garcia has been inactive after being injured early in Tampa Bay's game against Washington Nov. 25. Luke McCown was scheduled to start in his place and Garcia will be the emergency third quarterback.
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are in first place in the NFC South and are playing well in all phases of the game. Buccaneers QB Luke McCown had a big game against the Saints in Week 13, leading Tampa Bay to an important division win. The Texans played well in their Week 13 loss to Tennessee without starting QB Matt Schaub, who left the game with a shoulder injury. The status of Schaub is unknown for now, so the Texans will have to prepare with the expectation that backup QB Sage Rosenfels will be the starter.
