One of Manning's most gut-wrenching losses was Baltimore's come-from-behind win in last year's AFC Championship Game. Yet despite the heartbreak, Manning waited long after most players left the stadium to talk with Ray Lewis, who would retire after the season. Some of his peers pointed to that gesture in voting for him as a respected leader. "Football is a game where mutual respect between opponents is what all players strive for," Manning said. "It makes the game better."
