John Fox: Matt Prater OK after virus

JERSEY CITY, N.J. -- Denver Broncos kicker Matt Prater, who was held out of practice this past week because of an illness, was on the team flight to New Jersey Sunday and Broncos coach John Fox said Prater will play in next Sunday's Super Bowl XLVIII.

The Broncos held Prater out of practice Thursday, Friday and Saturday in part for Prater to recover and to avoid passing the illness to other players a week out from the title game.

"We put him in a little bubble," Fox joked about the team flight. "No, we didn't. He feels much better, our [doctors] take good care of him, got plenty of fluid in him, he's got the right meds. Again, it's a virus, everybody gets it and he'll be fine come next Sunday."

Prater led the NFL in touchbacks on kickoffs during the regular season and was 25 of 26 on field goal attempts in the regular season, including 6 of 7 from 50 or more yards, including an NFL record 64-yarder Dec. 8 against the Tennessee Titans.

Prater is 5 of 6 in the postseason, including a 4 of 4 performance in the AFC Championship Game this past Sunday.
