2013 NFL Power Rankings: Week 13
The Seahawks were idle in Week 12. That didn't stop them from making a significant move in our hierarchy.
No. 2 last week, Seattle jumped to the top spot after previous No. 1 Denver lost an overtime heartbreaker to the Patriots on Sunday night. Our voters (John Clayton, Ashley Fox, Dan Graziano, Jamison Hensley, Mike Sando and Kevin Seifert) dropped the Broncos to No. 3, behind New Orleans. The Patriots and Panthers round out the top five.
Will the Seahawks succeed where Denver and Kansas City (No. 1 in Week 11) recently failed? It won't be easy. The Seahawks host the dangerous Saints in Week 13 before facing NFC West opponents (who are all above .500) in three of the final four weeks.
In other words, no one should be considered safe -- not even the team with a league-best 10-1 record. If the past couple of weeks are a harbinger, another major change could be right around the corner.
