2014 NFL Power Rankings: Week 14
The Packers have been steady risers for weeks. Now they finally reign supreme. Winners of four straight, Green Bay was an overwhelming choice at No. 1 after knocking off New England Sunday.
The significant changes don't stop there. The Seahawks and Eagles, who delivered convincing Thanksgiving Day victories, also were rewarded by ESPN's Power Panel (a group of more than 80 writers, editors and TV personalities). Philadelphia and Seattle, who meet in Week 14, gained enough traction to move into the top five (at No. 4 and No. 5).
Those climbs put the Cardinals (No. 7) outside of the top five for the first time since Week 8. The Cowboys fell from No. 5 to No. 8.
Are the Packers poised for a lengthy run at No. 1? Their remaining schedule -- vs. Atlanta, at Buffalo, at Tampa Bay, vs. Detroit -- isn't daunting. So even though it took almost all season for Green Bay to reach the peak, it appears to have a good chance to remain there for the duration.
