2009 NFL Power Rankings: Week 9
Apparently, our experts were more impressed by the Saints' ESPN "Monday Night Football" victory over the Atlanta Falcons than they were moved by the Colts' struggle with the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday afternoon.
The No. 3 Minnesota Vikings and No. 4 Denver Broncos also swapped positions this week; the Vikings survived Brett Favre's visit to the Green Bay Packers, and the Baltimore Ravens handed the Broncos their first loss of the season.
The New England Patriots, who enjoyed a bye in Week 8, remain No. 5.
At the other end of the spectrum, the St. Louis Rams ended a 17-game losing streak by beating the Detroit Lions. The Rams escaped the Power Rankings' cellar and vaulted the Cleveland Browns and Tampa Bay Buccaneers to take the No. 30 overall ranking. The 0-7 Bucs, who were idle in Week 8, now rank No. 32 overall.
