The Colts placed safety Clayton Geathers (knee), safety Malik Hooker (knee) and guard Jeremy Vujnovich (calf) on the physically unable to perform list. All three players count towards the team's 90-man roster. The good news for the Colts is that left tackle Anthony Castonzo (hamstring) was not place on PUP.

Giants also signed fifth-round pick RJ McIntosh. All their picks now signed just in time for their first training camp practice Monday. McIntosh begins camp on the active/non-football illness list after missing all of the spring.

The Chiefs begin on Monday a three-day mini-camp for rookies and quarterbacks at Missouri Western State University with full-squad training camp set to open on Thursday. Quarterback Patrick Mahomes took trips to Hawaii and Florida with family members since the end of offseason practice in June but said the whole time he was “just sitting around waiting for football to get going. It's awesome to be back. . . This is the start of the new season.''

The Colts completed the signing of their 11 draft picks when second-round pick Darius Leonard signed his contract on Sunday. Rookies reported for training camp Sunday. Veterans report Wednesday with the first day of training camp for the Colts being Thursday

Saquon Barkley has agreed to a four year, $31.2 million rookie contract, per source. It immediately pays out $15 million, a significant chunk negotiated by his agent Kim Miale.

Saints coach Sean Payton on the passing of friend and former colleague Tony Sparano, whom he coached with in Dallas: "I am truly saddened to learn of the news of Tony's passing. I had the privilege of calling him a friend and a coaching colleague and am heartbroken for his wife, Jeannette, and his children Anthony, Andrew and Ryan Leigh. My thoughts and prayers go out to the countless people that he touched and made such a profound difference for in their lives. We have very suddenly lost a special person that was passionate about life, football and most importantly, family."

Sad news about Tony Sparano. The 2008 Dolphins team he coached was one of the most incredible, unlikely stories in league history. RIP.
