Steve Gleason the honorary captain for coin toss before Saints-Falcons – on the 10-year anniversary of his unforgettable blocked punt the night the Superdome reopened after Hurricane Katrina on Monday Night Football against the Falcons. And quarterback Drew Brees leads the crowd in the "Who Dat" chant before kickoff.

Powerful display of unity between the rival Saints and Falcons after the national anthem – the two teams joining hands in a wide circle around the field. Saints RB Mark Ingram said he and other players wanted to do something in the wake of more police shootings in Tulsa and Charlotte and support the cause of growing protestors around the NFL. Andrus Peat is warming up at left tackle for the Saints tonight in place of injured starter Terron Armstead. The first-round pick from 2015 has suffered through some ups and downs in his career. But LT is his most natural position, and he has been off to a decent start this year at left guard. Veteran backup Senio Kelemete is warming up as the starting left guard.

This could be a big night for Saints rookie WR Michael Thomas with Willie Snead out with a toe injury. The 6-3, 212-pounder was the breakout star of training camp and the preseason – but the Saints' depth at WR limits his opportunities. Thomas has 10 catches for 114 yards on 11 targets this year.
