Panthers wide receiver Devin Funchess left the field on a golf cart on Wednesday with what the team website called a rolled ankle. Linebacker Luke Kuechly was held out of team drills as a precaution because of tightness in his lower back. Rookie wide receiver Curtis Samuel did not attend for the second straight day for what the website called "personal reasons."

The Colin Kaepernick event in New York (one of 12 happening around the country today) featured several speakers, and some poetry. Former NBA player Etan Thomas was among those who delivered poems.

At the event supporting Colin Kaepernick outside NFL headquarters, New York State Sen. James Sanders Jr. says: "If he can't play, what's the sense of turning on the TV?" He suggests people consider watching other sports ("soccer, rugby, baseball") instead if Kaepernick can't be given a chance to play.

About 70 people showed up to the event supporting Colin Kaepernick outside NFL headquarters in New York. Event organizer Kevin Livingston: "We're here to let the NFL know we stand with Colin Kaepernick. To let the NFL know we are buying consumers and that we are keeping an eye on the situation."

Free-agent QB Colin Kaepernick met with the Seahawks on Wednesday. Kaepernick's former NFC West nemesis is reportedly considering options for a backup signal-caller.

Broncos defensive coordinator Joe Woods mentioned a few players today as he covered a variety of topics. One who drew special mention from Woods was defensive end Adam Gotsis. Woods said Gotsis -- a '16 draft pick -- has shown plenty of progress on the field and "he looks like an action figure ... He's put together."

Tight end Jason Witten did not take part in Wednesday's OTA as the Cowboys look to keep the 15-year veteran fresh. Linebacker Sean Lee also had the day off. Both players are expected to take part in Thursday's session, which is closed to the media.
