Something different at Patriots practice: Owner Robert Kraft arrives alongside Jon Bon Jovi. A helicopter landed on the nearby practice field, which appeared to be how Bon Jovi made it into town.

Adrian Peterson is going through individual work with his new team. He went fourth in each drill but one thing was clear: he's a bigger back than the others. But time will tell what he has left.

Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes on how many times he's watched the video of his 69-yard touchdown pass to Tyreek Hill is last week's game against the Falcons: “Not as much as I think everyone else has.''

So far because of injuries 2017 second-round pick Taylor Moton has worked with the Panthers' first team at left guard, right tackle and now left tackle. He moved to left tackle on Sunday when Matt Kalil's right knee became an issue. Kalil had the knee scoped Monday, so there is a chance Moton could be the opening-day starter protecting Cam Newton's blind side. Moton is ready for anything.

Pat Shurmur said "we'll see" on Odell Beckham Jr. playing Friday vs. Jets. He thinks Beckham is doing real well in practice. On Saquon Barkley: "Likes the path he's on." Wouldn't say they're being conservative with his hamstring injury, but always wants to be smart.

Newly signed cornerback Orlando Scandrick will practice with the Chiefs today for the first time. “He can help us with his experience and he still can play,'' coach Andy Reid said. “He had a nice year last year and he can come in and help us. That's what he's going to attempt to do.'' The Chiefs have Kendall Fuller as their top cornerback but after that things are unsettled. The other starter, Steven Nelson, won't practice because of a concussion. Third cornerback David Amerson has allowed a number of plays in the preseason. Asked about a possible role for Scandrick, Reid said, “We'll just see. I always say you can't have enough corners.''j

Panthers coach Ron Rivera said rookie wide receiver D.J. Moore came to the team right away after he was charged with reckless driving the night after the preseason opener against Buffalo. Moore was charged with going 113 mph in a 65-mph work zone on Interstate 77 around 3 a.m. after the team got home from Buffalo.

Some injury updates: Bucs rookie defensive tackle Vita Vea, who suffered a strained calf at the beginning of camp, is now running and moving well. He should be ready soon. Also, Vernon Hargreaves returned to practice today after suffering a groin injury two weeks ago. He was getting first-team reps at nickelback with Carlton Davis on the outside. Davis told me his ankle is feeling much better.

Matthew Stafford on if quarterbacks are viewed more than other players by playoff success or lack thereof: "100 percent." Wouldn't say whether he feels it's fair or not, but recognizes that it is how people view it.

Panthers center Ryan Kalil says his brother, left tackle Matt Kalil, is ‘'bummed ‘' about having to have his knee scoped on Monday. But Ryan believes his brother will be back sooner rather than later. Too early to rule him out for the opener.

Rob Demovsky ESPN Staff Writer

GM Brian Gutekunst said he "comes from a school [of thought] that a quarterback is pretty important and if you've got guys who can play, you want to keep as many as you can and develop them." Could that both Brett Hundley and DeShone Kizer (or maybe Tim Boyle) stick?

Saquon Barkley again not practicing. He stretches with his teammates before breaking off onto a side field with a trainer. Giants bringing him along slowly with this hamstring injury.
