Mike Solari has served as the primary offensive-line coach for five teams over 19 seasons. Here's how Solari's teams have finished in rushing over his last three stops: Giants (2016-17) were 29th and 26th; 49ers (2010-14) were 19th, eighth, fourth, third and fourth; Seahawks (2008-09) were 19th and 26th (under Mike Holmgren and Jim L. Mora). There's a lot of variance there, but the best of those results came with a team that Pete Carroll's Seahawks faced twice a season. That's probably no coincidence.

Ben Roethlisberger doesn't sound like a QB who wants OC Todd Haley gone. Said on weekly radio show the least player/coach change with ‘special' group, the better. "We're on the cusp," he said. Met with Haley at length Monday and two felt good about their work together.

Saints punter Thomas Morstead said he was diagnosed with torn cartilage, not broken ribs. Said it bruised his ego because it "doesn't sound as cool," but doctors assured him it hurts just as much. Said he felt better after a local shot, but it still hurt to punt. But he said he figured a bad punt would hurt just as much as a good punt, so he might as well hit some good ones.

Tom Brady previewed Patriots-Jaguars on his weekly interview on sports radio WEEI: "It's been a busy couple days. We practiced against them in training camp and we haven't seen much of them all year. Yesterday was a ton of film. It was good because it really kind of gets you focused on where you need to be. This is the biggest challenge we've faced all year. We've had a good offense. They've had the best defense. And that's always a challenge when you go up against those guys. When you watch them play over the course of the season, you can see why. There is not a lot of time for the quarterback to throw, and I think the whole secondary knows it. The linebackers know it. And they're aggressive. They take chances. They get a lot of turnovers. They have a really good scheme, and the quarterback is just under pressure all day."

Seahawks defensive end Cliff Avril told the NFL Network that he hasn't given up hope on resuming his football career, saying he'll try to play again. Avril had disc surgery after suffering a season-ending neck injury in October. If he is able to come back, there's no guarantee it would be with the Seahawks. Avril's future with the team was already going to be a question before his injury. He'll be 32 in April and is scheduled to make $7 million in salary in 2018, the final year of his deal.

Ken Norton Jr. was well-liked among Seahawks players, particularly the linebackers he coached, during his five seasons with the team. One of those linebackers, K.J. Wright, posted a picture to Instagram on Monday of he and Norton on the practice field. The caption: "Time to finish what we started! Welcome back coach."

Matt LaFleur seems like a longshot at this point in his trajectory, but hey, so did Sean McVay. Regardless, perhaps it's the start of him getting noticed. LaFleur previously served as a QB coach under Kyle Shanahan with the Browns and Falcons. Could someday take over Rams playcalling duties.

Titans will interview Rams OC Matt LaFleur for their vacant HC job, a source confirmed to ESPN's Alden Gonzalez. LaFleur just finished his first year as OC and helped HC/playcaller Sean McVay turn around Rams, Jared Goff.

Can confirm that the Titans will be interviewing Rams offensive coordinator Matt LaFleur for their head coaching job. LaFleur did not call plays this season, but he was big in assisting Sean McVay in his first year as head coach and playcaller. Under McVay and LaFleur, the Rams became the first team in the Super Bowl era to go from last to first in scoring from one season to the next.

The Seahawks are hiring Mike Solari as their offensive line coach, a source confirms to ESPN. Solari was Seattle's offensive line coach in 2008 and 2009 under Mike Holmgren and Jim L. Mora, respectively, and has served the same role since then for the 49ers and Giants. He replaces Tom Cable, who was fired last week after seven season with the team. The NFL Network first reported that Seattle is hiring Solari.

Ken Norton Jr., who was recently hired as 49ers assistant head coach for defense, is considered a top candidate to become defensive coordinator in Seattle. Niners coach Kyle Shanahan's statement indicates Norton will be allowed to pursue such an opportunity.

Nick Wagoner ESPN Staff Writer

Seahawks backup quarterback Austin Davis spent his first three NFL seasons with the Rams, when Brian Schottenheimer was their offensive coordinator. He said he thinks the Seahawks' offense under Schottenheimer will mix things up more from week to week than it did in recent seasons. "We were very creative in St. Louis," he told 710 ESPN Seattle. "We threw a lot of things at the defense, whether it was drop-back, whether it was play-action, whether it was quarterback movement, we had it all. And we were a really good screen team. If there was one thing I could pick out from last year, we couldn't run screens."

Titans assistant coaches, including DC Dick LeBeau, are under contract for the 2018 season. Titans GM Jon Robinson plans to call of the assistants this afternoon to talk to them. Yet to be seen if he'll let them interview elsewhere.

Sean Payton and the Saints coaching staff will coach the NFC Pro Bowl team, the league announced Monday -- the first time they've done so since Payton's first year on the job after the 2006 season. Mike Tomlin and the Steelers staff will coach the AFC squad. Payton shouldn't have much trouble getting familiar with his roster, since the Saints sent six players to the Pro Bowl this year (QB Drew Brees, RBs Mark Ingram and Alvin Kamara, WR Michael Thomas, DE Cameron Jordan and CB Marshon Lattimore).

"We knew from the beginning they were a good football team." — Patriots safety Duron Harmon, reflecting on Jaguars-Patriots joint practices in August. Said Patriots expect Sunday to be their most physical game of the year.

More on the Andrew Sendejo hit/concussion: Mike Zimmer says it's hard to tell what the Saints intent was and whether they were trying to set a pick play or whether he and Michael Thomas got tangled up, which resulted in the helmet-to-helmet contact. Zimmer says the Vikings will probably submit the play to the league for further evaluation.

Patriots special teams captain Matthew Slater refers to the Jaguars as an "elite team" and Jalen Ramsey as an elite corner. Of Ramsey, Slater said, "When the good Lord made that guy, he said, ‘Let there be corner.' And there he is."

Courtney Cronin ESPN Staff Writer

Will Sam Bradford back Case Keenum up again against the Eagles now that he's healthy? "I don't know," Mike Zimmer said. "I haven't thought that far ahead yet. I'm just tring to finish up the things yesterday that we had to do and then start get going on Philly and we'll worry about that later on."

OG David DeCastro on Jacksonville getting extra fuel from Steelers' chatter: "I'd feel the same way. How could you not? If you're a third-party bystander, how could you not look at us and say, 'look how arrogant they are to think they can beat a team that beat them handedly at their place?' It makes no sense to me.”
