Cardinals safety Tyrann Mathieu said he hopes to stop wearing the brace on his right knee by Week 8 "if everything goes well." "A knee brace is a knee brace," Mathieu said. "It's going to restrict you. I really just have to get comfortable with it in the meantime."

John Keim ESPN Staff Writer

Redskins second-year receiver Jamison Crowder, who is tied for the team lead with 16 receptions, says his improved play stems from feeling more comfortable. It's boosted his confidence.

Sheil Kapadia ESPN Writer

Russell Wilson (sprained MCL) says he has "no doubt" about playing Sunday. He said he did everything at practice yesterday and was listed as a full participant. Wilson will wear a brace on his left knee. He said he had to do that at N.C. State and it won't hinder him at all.

Mike Reiss ESPN Staff Writer

There are no changes with the Patriots' injury report, as QBs Jimmy Garoppolo and Jacoby Brissett remain limited in practice.

Jason Witten had an interesting way to breakdown the fallout of the Dez Bryant situation from inside the Cowboys locker room, channeling his inner Jerry Jones: "Look, we all go through different things," Witten said. "That's handled within teams. Guys address it and move forward. It happens every week in the NFL from that standpoint. So, yeah, you always work together and talking and that's what teammates are, they're brothers. There's a great saying inside this building by somebody I tremendously respect – let's not circumcise a mosquito here, you know? I think that has great value in this. As things go on, move forward and we all understand that. This game means so much to Dez Bryant and that's a relationship that I've really enjoyed over the years in seeing that and the brotherhood that you have with that. Dez will be back out there in no time."

Here's a potential hidden advantage for the Dolphins tonight: four days ago they faced the Browns. Cleveland head coach Hue Jackson is Cincinnati's former offensive coordinator. The Browns and Bengals run very similar schemes. Adam Gase told me "it's helpful". Seems especially helpful on a short week.

Terrelle Pryor on Steelers RB D'Angelo Williams needling Pryor's statement that the Browns can win the rest of their games:

Dirk Koetter's sick of answering questions about the Bucs' culture. "That's something that, for any progress to be made, that's going to be over a much longer period of time than three days." They have to focus on doing all the little things right and build it over time. "Like anything else, it starts with awareness."

Mike Rodak ESPN Staff Writer

The Bills are remaining "hopeful" about Sammy Watkins' availability, but will he play Sunday in New England?

Bob Holtzman ESPN

Vontaze Burfict is in great shape. He told me he took boxing, wrestling, yoga and UFC classes during the offseason and lost 5 or 6 pounds while also adding muscle. But he isn't sure he's in "football shape". Burfict didn't play during the preseason, hasn't been in pads since a joint practice seven weeks ago and told me "you never know until you're out there with pads on".

Besides Cutler, the Bears had five additional players miss practice on Thursday -- NT Eddie Goldman, RB Jeremy Langford, RB Ka'Deem Carey, ILB Danny Trevathan and CB Jacoby Glenn (personal reasons). Also, WR Alshon Jeffery was limited with knee and hamstring issues.

Pat McManamon ESPN Staff Writer

Hue Jackson on Joe Haden's physical condition with a groin strain, after Thursday's practice: "He was out there running around today, so we'll see where he is this weekend. I feel good about it."

David Newton ESPN Staff Writer

Food truck Thursday is back again and so is Cam Newton's food truck. The truck is headed to Atlanta for Sunday's game against the Falcons.

Paul Kuharsky ESPN Staff Writer

WR Tajae Sharpe was limited. Said hamstring got tight late against the Raiders but that he's feeling good

Panthers coach Ron Rivera said on the 1-2 start "it's not like we played a bunch of slappies." He noted Minnesota and Denver are 3-0 with tough defenses.
