Rookie fullback Alex Armah may not be fully developed in time for this season but he sure looked ready on that that 20-yard touchdown catch. He also had arguably the play of the week in the joint practices with Tennessee when he knocked a Titans player backwards on special teams to ignite the rest of the team.

Jaylon Smith will play in his first game since the 2016 Fiesta Bowl when the Cowboys take on the Colts. It's been quite a journey for last year's second round pick to get to this point.

The expectation is that Dak Prescott and the starting offense could play a quarter tonight against Indianapolis.

Panthers coach Ron Rivera was looking for somebody to make plays in the second half. Joe Webb and the offense stepped up with a 10-play, 91-yard drive. Webb looked good completing all three pass attempts for 35 yards. He also had two carries for 17 yards. Good insurance to have as the third quarterback.

Titans 24, Panthers 10 (Halftime): It could have been worse. The Titans missed a field goal as the half ended. But it couldn't have been much worse as Carolina had two first-quarter turnovers and the defense gave up way too many big plays. The bright spot was rookie Christian McCaffrey, who rushed for 33 yards and a touchdown and caught two passes for 39 yards.

Panthers are thin enough at safety, so good sign that Dezmen Southward walked off the field after grabbing his back in pain on awkward tackle.

Rookie Harrison Butker making his case for the placekicking job. He just added a 46-yard field goal to the 51-yarder he had in the preseason opener.

Panthers second team defense doesn't give Titans much of a challenge on 14-play, 75-yard drive capped by a walk-in touchdown run on fourth and goal from the 1. Ron Rivera sticking with first team offense and Christian McCaffrey makes the Titans pay with a 38-yard catch and run. This kid can fly.

Cameron Wolfe ESPN

Derrick Henry getting a heavy load today with DeMarco Murray out. It's been a grind - 16 carries for 36 yards - but he notched two touchdowns including one for 17 yards around left corner.

Christian McCaffrey made Cam Newton dance on the sideline with that 17-yard touchdown run to the right. The first touchdown for the Panthers rookie, albeit it is the preseason. Won't be his last of 2017.

Offensive line opened a huge hole for Christian McCaffrey on the last play. The first-round pick took advantage with a 13-yard run. You could see his explosiveness that makes him a threat to go all the way every time he touches the ball. Even on plays up the middle.
