The Broncos have formally signed wide receiver Hunter Sharp to the roster from their practice squad this morning . And wide receiver River Cracraft, who was one of four wide receivers the team worked out Tuesday, was signed to fill that practice squad spot. The Broncos still have one roster spot open after guard Billy Turner to injured reserve Tuesday.

Bills QB Tyrod Taylor said Wednesday that his teammates are organizing a "town hall" style meeting with political leaders to discuss issues of social injustice. Taylor said there has yet to be a time or date set for that meeting. LB Lorenzo Alexander and RB Mike Tolbert released statements earlier this week saying they wanted to move from protests during national anthem to enacting change in communities.

Seahawks rookie DL Malik McDowell, who's been out since suffering a concussion in an ATV accident before training camp, was cleared to begin conditioning work two weeks ago, Pete Carroll said. Carroll said recently that the team hasn't ruled out the possibility of its top draft playing at some point this season, but McDowell remains a long ways away from returning to the field. "It's a slow process to get him back out here," Carroll said. "He hasn't done anything for months. We're being very careful, of course, but it's a good sign for him.”

Sean Payton said Saints safety Kenny Vaccaro has “played some of his best football” in the past few weeks after he was battling inconsistency the first two weeks and was temporarily pulled from the lineup. “There are a lot of things he's doing well right now,” said Payton, who said Vaccaro plays better when he's up closer to the play -- though Payton stressed that the team did not single out Vaccaro during the defense's early struggles. “These last few games, he's been outstanding.”

Sean Payton said he just talked to the players about repeated mistakes that will cost them, despite their current three-game win streak. “We'll have no chance if we can't clean up some of these areas,” said Payton, who was asked for some specific examples. “Our third-down numbers offensively ... our communication defensively and eliminating some of the big plays that we've given up, even in the last game. I think our field goal protection has struggled – it's gonna cost us in a game. Our penalties on special teams are gonna cost us in a game.”
