Broncos coach Gary Kubiak said Trevor Siemian did about "80 percent" of the scheduled work for the starting quarterback in Wednesday's practice. Siemian is still on track to start Saturday against the Rams and Kubiak has said he'll make a decision next week about a starter for the season opener.

Bucs LB Daryl Smith sat out his fifth-straight practice today. Dirk Koetter said last week that he was taking a "veteran's day." Evan Spencer, who suffered a knee injury Saturday, also sat out. He told me today that he is "feeling better and just rehabbing it" for now.

Seahawks QB Russell Wilson was asked today about the report that he and Ciara moved their wedding out of North Carolina because of the transgender bathroom law. "I'm just going to simply talk about, I just believe Jesus loves all people," Wilson said. "That's honestly what I believe, and I just always constantly pray for world peace. I pray for peace in the world. I pray for joy. But my focus right now is just on the Cowboys and scoring in the red zone."

Patriots TE Rob Gronkowski returns to practice for the first time since pulling up Aug. 15. Gronkowski hasn't played in the preseason since 2012 and this isn't likely to change that.

Pete Carroll on Seahawks RB Thomas Rawls: "I have no hesitation in telling you he's going to play in the opener. I have no hesitation in saying that. We'll see what happens next week. He won't play in this game." It's possible that the team will get Rawls some touches in the final preseason game next week. Barring an unforeseen setback, he'll be the starter Week 1.
