I'm in Chicago this weekend and the percentage of people that already want Mike Glennon to be benched is 100.

The Redskins lost their second preseason game, 21-17, to the Green Bay Packers. Rookie Samaje Perine stood out in the second half, gaining 45 yards on nine carries, and showing improvement over the opener. But the starters needed the entire first half to generate much of an attack. Quarterback Kirk Cousins completed 14-of-23 passes for 144 yards and a touchdown, but the offense struggled vs. Green Bay's starters.

Cardinals S Tyrann Mathieu returned an interception of Bears QB Mike Glennon 52 yards into Chicago territory. He'd have been able to return it for a touchdown if he had one more blocker but he eventually went down as he ran out of real estate

Bears quarterback Mike Glennon kills the club's momentum with an interception at the goal line. Glennon was picked off by Tyrann Mathieu who jumped in front of a late throw to Kevin White. Glennon's second pick of the preseason. Now all of Chicago waits for Mitchell Trubisky to enter the game.

Bengals defenders wouldn't let "its preseason" be an excuse for their play. Said they might not use the whole playbook, but they use enough, and missed tackles are missed tackles.

Broncos got quality field position twice in first quarter after 49ers turnovers. They finished first quarter with 45 yards of offense -- 21 passing, 24 rushing.

LIONS 16, JETS 6, final: Todd Bowles gave Christian Hackenberg a shot, and it didn't work out. Now the decision is clear: Josh McCown should be named the starter. Maybe Hackenberg couldn't have changed that, even f he played well. Now it's a no-brainer. Frankly, the bigger question is, who's the No. 2 quarterback? Bryce Petty did a decent job.

The extent of Shawn Williams injury isn't known yet but Bengals players knew it was bad when he started screaming. That's why they all took a knee. He will get an MRI if he hasn't already.

Another really nice touchdown drive by the Rams' offense, culminating in a tough, two-yard run by Todd Gurley, who has gained 38 yards on just eight carries. Jared Goff went 3-of-5 for 32 yards on that drive, completing two passes to Cooper Kupp and another to Tyler Higbee. Goff today: 8-of-10, 110 yards, a touchdown.

Nick Wagoner ESPN Staff Writer

A brutal two-play stretch for 49ers QB Brian Hoyer kills the starting offense's best drive of the preseason so far. Hoyer tripped over himself and threw incomplete on second down then simply dropped the ball as he prepared to throw for a fumble Denver recovered. Hoyer had been rolling before that.

Alden Gonzalez ESPN Staff Writer

Trumaine Johnson, from nearby Stockton, with an interception. Had only one of those last year. Nice job by the Rams, especially Connor Barwin, of applying pressure.

Jeff Dickerson ESPN Staff Writer

Great start for rookie Tarik Cohen, who already has 41 rushing yards on five carries. There's concern that Cohen (5-foot-6) isn't built to be Jordan Howard's primary backup, but Cohen looks terrific tonight out of the backfield. Still, look for Chicago to get creative with how they get Cohen the ball in the regular season.

Alden Gonzalez ESPN Staff Writer

Looked like Jared Goff waited a little too long to push the ball downfield, which allowed Khalil Mack to sack him for a 10-yard loss and kill the second drive. Robert Woods was open. Todd Gurley with 24 yards on five carries and also a 12-yard catch. He's running violently.

Josh Weinfuss ESPN Staff Writer

The Bears strike first with a 42-yard field goal from K Connor Barth. They had marched down to the 24-yard line but a nice pass breakup by Cardinals cornerback Justin Bethel on third-and-8 stalled the Bears drive and forced the field goal to give them a 3-0 lead with 4:57 left in the firs quarter.

Jeff Dickerson ESPN Staff Writer

Connor Barth wins the first battle in Chicago's kicking competition against Roberto Aguayo. Barth converts a 42 yard field goal on the Bears' second offensive drive.

LIONS 16, JETS 6, Final: A pretty ho-hum performance by the Lions against one of the worst teams in the league. Detroit's defense was suffocating when it faced the Jets starters. A guy to watch, long-term, could be CB Jamal Agnew. He had a team-high six tackles and could factor into the return competition. The Lions will have a tougher test Friday against New England.

Alden Gonzalez ESPN Staff Writer

That Raiders offense is very good. Oakland comes right back and scores, on a perfect, 19-yard pass across the middle to Lee Smith, a blocking tight end. Raiders scored on four plays. And DB Lamarcus Joyner was hit with two personal fouls. Rams had a very impressive showing on defense last week. Not so much to start the day.

Jeff Legwold ESPN Senior Writer

C.J. Anderson with six touches already in the game for the Broncos.

Nick Wagoner ESPN Staff Writer

49ers CB Rashard Robinson off to a rough start for the second preseason game in a row. A missed tackle to give up a first down on the Broncos' opening drive and he follows with a defensive pass interference in the end zone to set up Denver's 1-yard touchdown. Robinson recovered from allowing a big play and missing a tackle last week by coming up with an interception.

Katherine Terrell ESPN Staff Writer

Marvin Lewis said he has no update on Shawn Williams, who was carted off early in the game.

Alden Gonzalez ESPN Staff Writer

Rams with a very, very encouraging first drive in Oakland, finishing it with a 23-yard touchdown pass, on play action, to a wide-open Cooper Kupp. Jared Goff went 4-of-4 for 66 yards, and Todd Gurley gained 19 yards on four carries. Two catches for 19 yards for Robert Woods, Rookie tight end Gerald Everett gained 24 yards on one catch thanks to a great inside cut in open space. Biggest takeaway: Gurley ran hard, and it set up play action. Life is so much easier for Goff when Gurley is effective.

Jeff Dickerson ESPN Staff Writer

Big night for Bears cornerback Kyle Fuller and defensive end Jonathan Bullard who start in place of the injured Prince Amukamara and Akiem Hicks. Bullard already contributed a TFL on Arizona's first offensive possession.

Sarah Barshop ESPN Staff Writer

Two-yard touchdown run by rookie quarterback Deshaun Watson. That's his second touchdown run in two games.
