Like he did last year against Philadelphia, punter Chris Jones gives the Cowboys some life with a fake punt that gains 24 yards.

Interesting post-game reaction from coach Todd Bowles, who spoke of a bright future for the team. It's out of character for him to discuss the big picture. It almost sounded like Bowles, whose job could be in jeopardy, was making an appeal to ownership. "Obviously, this is going to turn," he said. "I believe that we have a good core group." He added, "I️ don't worry about how many we lost in a row. I know how we lost and I know why we lost. We're fighting. As long as we've got fight and we correct the small things, we'll be fine."

The Saints (10-4) can clinch a playoff berth with one more win against either Atlanta in Week 16 or Tampa Bay in Week 17. To clinch the NFC South title next week, they would need to beat the Falcons and have the Panthers lose.

The wheels are falling off. Dak Prescott intercepted by Sean Smith for the second time. Replay will overturn Smith's touchdown return, but the Cowboys have seen this game turned in a bad way. Bruce Irving deflected the ball as it was coming out of Prescott's hand, creating the flutter.

With momentum swinging, Ryan Switzer takes a kickoff 7 yards deep out of the end zone and gets to the Dallas 15. Not wise.

For the fourth time in the six games, the Cowboys have given up a score on the opening possession of the second half. Raiders back in this thing and the crowd is into it. Let's see how the Cowboys answer with a 10-7 lead.

More good fortune for the Cowboys. Cordarrelle Patterson's kickoff return for a touchdown called back because of a holding penalty. The correct call, too.

Needing a win to have somewhat realistic chances of making the playoffs, the Cowboys lead 10-0 at halftime against Oakland, but missed a chance at three takeaways and had a fortuitous pass interference penalty wipe out a touchdown. Offensively, they started hot enough but had an interception wipe out a scoring chance on their first drive.

Both 49ers coach Kyle Shanahan and LT Joe Staley said the Titans blitzed them more today than they'd ever been blitzed in any NFL game. According to Pro Football Focus, the Titans blitzed QB Jimmy Garoppolo on 26 of his 46 dropbacks (56.5%). Against the blitz, Garoppolo was 16-of-23 for 214 yards with a 98.8 passer rating.

Jared Cook broke the Cowboys hearts in the playoffs last January with a first down grab on third and forever for Green Bay. He was called for pass interference tonight to wipe out a Raiders touchdown. Was it a penalty? Perhaps but the half couldn't have ended better for the Cowboys with Giorgio Tavecchio missing a 39-yard field goal attempt.

Jared Goff, on Todd Gurley: "I might be a little biased, but I think he's the best running back in the league. He's the most complete running back. He can do it out of the backfield, he can do it in the passing game, he can do it in the pass-protection game. Obviously the way he runs is special. He deserves everything coming his way. I think the best thing about him is he could care less about that."

Rams coach Sean McVay said it was "a point of emphasis" to get Todd Gurley going on the ground today. "Certainly you don't want to make the same mistake again. Todd makes you right."

Mike Reiss ESPN Staff Writer

In a jubilant post-game locker room that had similarities to the improbable playoff win in San Diego in the 2006 season, Tom Brady celebrated by FaceTiming home and talking fantasy football and Star Wars with his kids.

Rams LG Rodger Saffold: "Any time we face adversity, we come back. I don't think we've lost two games in a row all season, which shows you the character of this team."

NFL avoids what could have been a huge issue with Jerry Richardson voluntarily selling the team. Takes league off the hot seat with this one — a problem that the NBA clearly had with the Clippers' Donald Sterling when they had to force him to sell.

Brady Henderson ESPN

Bobby Wagner apparently took issue with Earl Thomas' opinion that Wagner shouldn't have been playing today on his injured hamstring. Wagner tweeted and deleted: “E keep my name out yo mouth. Stop being jealous of other people success. I still hope you keep balling bro."

Defensive end Benson Mayowa is questionable to return with a back injury. He might have played just one series before coming out.
