Bills RB LeSean McCoy (ribs) is unlikely to play Sunday against the Vikings, a source told ESPN's Adam Schefter, but will test his injury pregame before making a final decision.

The Patriots have downgraded starting safety Patrick Chung (concussion), starting defensive end Trey Flowers (concussion) and starting cornerback Eric Rowe (groin) to out for Sunday night's game against the Lions. With the team not downgrading WR Josh Gordon (hamstring), the newly-acquired pass-catcher remains questionable (50-50 chance to play) for the game. Without Chung, the Patriots figure to turn to six-year veteran Duron Harmon to fill his role at safety. Without Flowers, it likely means that 2017 third-round pick Derek Rivers will be active for his first regular-season game, with Keionta Davis and Deatrich Wise starting at DE. And Rowe was benched last week after two series and replaced by Jason McCourty, which could continue Sunday night.

With a banged up secondary and a returning to full strength linebacker corps, the 49ers released LB Terence Garvin and promoted DB Tyvis Powell from the practice squad to the active roster on Saturday. The Niners got LBs Reuben Foster (suspension) and Malcolm Smith (hamstring) back in the fold, making Garvin expendable.

Julio Jones has never gone more than 69 regular-season targets without scoring a touchdown. Currently at 111 and counting.

Some good on the Patriots' injury front on Saturday, as starting right tackle Marcus Cannon (calf) and core special teams player Nate Ebner (hip) both made the trip to Detroit. Cannon and Ebner are listed as questionable on the team's injury report, giving them a 50-50 chance of playing.
