USC cornerback Adoree' Jackson grew up near East St. Louis and still rooted for the Rams in their first year in Los Angeles (except when they played the Bills, who had some notable former Trojans). On the possibility of getting drafted by them: "I would just tell people -- they probably won't know -- I played for the St. Louis Rams. ... It wouldn't be bittersweet. I'd be excited. It would be a little bummer, because I'm not back home where I grew up, but I'd still be playing for my favorite team. Wherever they go, I'm there."

Former Redskins running back Tim Hightower visited Washington today, but no deal is in the works as of now, per a source. Hightower played with the Redskins in 2011, before injuring his knee and missing the next three seasons. He spent the last two years with New Orleans. The Redskins have five running backs under contract. They could add another back in the draft or as an undrafted free agent. The Redskins have used this period to meet with veteran backs before, notably Pierre Thomas two years ago. In much the same way, Hightower likely would be viewed as an insurance option down the road.

The Dolphins claimed offensive tackle Avery Young, according to the league's transaction wire. Young was injured while with the New Orleans Saints last season, but Miami is seeing if there is upside with the 24-year old. The Dolphins need offensive tackle depth behind starters Laremy Tunsil and Ja'Wuan James. They traded starting left tackle Branden Albert to the Jaguars earlier this month.

The Saints had a private workout with Tennessee quarterback Josh Dobbs this week, according to ESPN's Adam Caplan. As previously reported, the Saints also had a private workout with Texas Tech QB Patrick Mahomes that included coach Sean Payton on Tuesday. They will probably do the same with many of the top QB prospects in this year's draft class. Dobbs (6-3, 216 pounds) is a mid- to late-round prospect, but ESPN draft analyst Todd McShay said recently that he might be the most underrated QB in this year's class.

In addition to Gerald Hodges, the Seahawks also hosted LB Terence Garvin for a visit today, according to ESPN's Field Yates. Garvin, 27, spent last year in Washington and was with the Pittsburgh Steelers the previous three seasons. He has appeared in 59 games but has just one start under his belt. The Seahawks went into this offseason in need of a starting SAM LB, along with more depth behind Bobby Wagner and K.J. Wright. They've already signed Arthur Brown but are clearly still looking for more options to compete for roster spots.

The Dolphins signed former Saints OT Avery Young, an undrafted rookie last year from Auburn who spent all of training camp and the entire season on the non-football injury list with an undisclosed ailment. The 6-foot-6, 305-pounder could also potentially play guard. He is the brother of Bears outside linebacker Willie Young.

Free-agent LB Zach Brown's agents, Jason and Michael Katz, say their client is "exploring all options" and will make a decision once he completes all visits with teams. Brown visited his former team, the Bills, on Wednesday and previously visited Miami and Oakland. He ranks No. 31 on ESPN's Top 150 free agents.

The Packers reported free-agent visits with RB Christine Michael and T Byron Bell on Wednesday, according to ESPN's Field Yates, while defensive lineman Ricky Jean Francois was expected to visit, according to a source. Michael finished the season on the Packers roster after he was claimed off waivers from Seattle. Bell spent all of last season on injured reserve because of ankle injury.
