LATROBE, Pa. -- No holdout for left tackle Alejandro Villanueva, who is signing a four-year extension with the Pittsburgh Steelers, a source told ESPN. Villanueva is arriving to camp now to sign his deal. Villaneuva, 28, wasn't under contract because he hadn't signed his exclusive rights tender of $615,000. The two-year starter made significant strides in the second half of 2016 and is a key component to one of the league's best offensive lines.

In the skill player compete period the Cowboys defense gets the win. Orlando Scandrick broke up a comeback to Dez Bryant and Damien Wilson deflected a sideline throw to Rod Smith. Jason Witten had the lone win for the offense beating Byron Jones on and out and up and drawing a flag.

Niners QB Brian Hoyer is looking forward to entering a training camp as the unquestioned starter. Says this is probably most excited he's ever been to start a camp, largely because of that reason. Hoyer hosted many of his pass catchers for training in Texas over the summer.

According to 49ers coach Kyle Shanahan, the team will begin camp on Friday with no players on the physically unable to perform list. Shanahan said that's rarely been the case in his career but is, of course, a positive development. The Niners are set to have their conditioning test today at 1:30 PST so things could still change but full health is expected.

49ers coach Kyle Shanahan said LB Reuben Foster has been cleared for training camp after recovery from shoulder surgery. Foster will have no restrictions when camp begins on Friday and won't be held back when pads come on in a few days, either.

49ers GM John Lynch said the team is still working on rookie contract for No. 3 pick Solomon Thomas. Lynch and coach Kyle Shanahan expressed optimism that Thomas deal will get done in time for first practice on Friday.

Rams announced they have added three executives to their personnel department, including senior personnel executive Brian Xanders. Also, Marty Barrett (national scout) and Matt Waugh (pro scouting assistant). They also added five people to their football operations staff: Joey Blake (head team dietician), Edward Grayer (assistant strength and conditioning coach), Jacques McClendon (director of player engagement), Fernando Noriega (strength assistant), Blair Wagner (assistant strength and conditioning coach) and Anthony Zamora (nutrition assistant). Brad Holmes will resume his role as director of college scouting and James Gladstone will continue to be senior assistant to GM Les Snead, with the added title of player personnel coordinator.
