Chiefs coach Andy Reid defended Marcus Peters after the cornerback was penalized for unnecessary roughness for his hit on Oakland quarterback Derek Carr. “He's a runner,'' Reid said of Carr. “That was a QB draw play. Once you do that you're declared a runner until that whistle blows. He was playing and I'm not going to knock him for that . . . Once he's (running), he's no different than a running back. That's the rule.''

"I don't have any problem with Marcus (Peters) coming and hitting me...Marshawn (Lynch) came out and did his thing....Knowing him, I know he was just out there taking care of us." - Derek Carr

ESPN Stats and Information

Derek Carr recorded his eighth game-winning drive in the fourth quarter/OT since the start of last season, tied with Matthew Stafford for the most in the NFL. The Raiders have three one-point wins since the start of last season. Derek Carr has thrown the game-winning pass to Michael Crabtree in each of those games.

Chiefs running back Kareem Hunt didn't find the end zone tonight, but he produced 117 total yards and 15.7 fantasy points (PPR scoring) vs. the Raiders. The rookie rushed for 87 yards (18 carries) and added another 30 yards receiving on four catches. Hunt continues to rack up consistent numbers and high-volume touches in the Kansas City offense.

Just absorbed a playful and heavy backhand to the arm from a smiling Reggie McKenzie. Offered a congratulations and McKenzie exhaled, "Thanks," McKenzie said. "We needed that."

Chiefs WR Tyreek Hill caught six passes for 125 yards and a TD. The scoring play? A straight go route. Win with speed. Hill also added seven yards rushing on two carries (jet sweeps) and finished with 25.2 fantasy points (PPR scoring).

Matt Bowen ESPN Staff Writer

Derek Carr was second in fantasy scoring tonight with 30.2 points. The Raiders quarterback threw for 417 yards (29-of-52) and three touchdowns -- including the game winner on the sprint-out concept to Michael Crabtree.

Matt Bowen ESPN Staff Writer

Amari Cooper had a breakout game for the Raiders tonight...11 receptions, 210 yards and two touchdowns. That's good for 44 fantasy points (PPR scoring).

Matt Bowen ESPN Staff Writer

Smart call on the game-winner for the Raiders. Move the pocket with Derek Carr and target Michael Crabtree in the end zone. And how about the throw from Carr? Low and to the outside. Excellent ball placement. The DB in coverage can't make that play.

Steelers OC Todd Haley looking for 'more consistent offense' across the board. Missed chances to break open the game in Kansas City because of a lack of detail.

Adam Teicher ESPN Staff Writer

The Chiefs have allowed 280 yards to the Raiders in the first half, but they're ahead by six points. That's due to some good offense of their own (257 yards, 20 points). So this game appears destined to become a shootout with each side hoping it's the one that has the ball at the end.

Raiders tailback Marshawn Lynch has been ejected for making contact with an official. The incident followed a personal foul on the Chiefs cornerback Marcus Peters who was flagged for a late hit on Oakland QB Derek Carr. Interestingly, both Lynch and Peters are Oakland natives. Peters arrived for the game at the Coliseum today dressed in a Beast Mode sweatshirt to pay homage to an Oaktown legend.

Kevin Seifert NFL Nation

Raiders RB Marshawn Lynch could be looking at a loss of more than $100,000 for that ridiculous display. First, Lynch is subject to a minimum fine of $30,387 for making contact with an official during that melee. That he came off the bench to join the fight makes him a candidate to be suspended, as well. That would cost him a game check of $79,411.

Adam Teicher ESPN Staff Writer

Marcus Peters and Marshawn Lynch are close. Both are from Oakland. Peters has called Lynch a cousin, though they aren't blood relatives. But Lynch is a mentor to Peters.

Ridiculous speed from Tyreek Hill on the deep ball. With no safety help over the top, Hill is going to win that matchup vs. off-man coverage. 64 yards on the score.

Adam Teicher ESPN Staff Writer

Kareem Hunt's block on NaVorro Bowman gave Alex Smith the time to get the ball to Tyreek Hill on the TD. Hunt showed his willingness to pass protect during the preseason, when he took out two pass rushers with a single block in a game against the Cincinnati Bengals.

I can offer no explanation for that illegal contact call on Chiefs DB Eric Murray. Contact was within five yards of the line of scrimmage, which is legal. Just a bad call by Craig Wrolstad's crew.

Matt Bowen ESPN Staff Writer

Raiders WR Amari Cooper is already up to 95 yards and two touchdowns on just three receptions. Cooper hauled in the deep ball down the sideline and beat the Chiefs secondary on the crossing route for another score. That gives Cooper 24.5 fantasy points (PPR scoring) at the end of the first quarter.

Adam Teicher ESPN Staff Writer

The Derek Carr to Amari Cooper TD pass of 38 yards was longer than any Oakland pass play, TD or not, in the Raiders' five-game losing streak against the Chiefs. Carr's longest pass during the five games was 33.yards.

Dan Graziano ESPN Staff Writer

A Raiders source this week when I asked what's wrong with Amari Cooper: "Kind of a confidence/mental thing, but coming around."

Adam Teicher ESPN Staff Writer

Travis Kelce is the only one of the Chiefs' three TEs who didn't play basketball in college. But he can go up and get a ball, as he showed on his TD there.
