Colts coach Chuck Pagano will make his first public comments since Ryan Grigson was fired as general manager and owner Jim Irsay announced that he would return as coach next season when he speaks at the NFL's annual combine on March 2. Pagano will likely also talk about how his relationship has been so far with general manager Chris Ballard. Ballard will address the media on March 1.

The Titans have dire need at cornerback, but my sense is a guy who excelled with them as a fourth-round pick out of UCLA in 2010 isn't in play. Alterraun Verner was recently cut by the Buccaneers.

The Packers have hired former 49ers director of college scouting Matt Malaspina as a college scout. That was the only move GM Ted Thompson announced in his personnel department. No word yet on whether Eliot Wolf or Brian Gutekunst received new titles.

Blake Bortles is the Jaguars' quarterback in 2017. Maybe. During a pre-combine news conference on Friday, Jaguars executive VP of football ops Tom Coughlin said Bortles has a lot of work to do entering his fourth season, especially in terms of turnovers. Bortles has turned the ball over an NFL-high 63 times (51 interceptions) since he was drafted third overall in 2014. Coughlin didn't completely commit to Bortles as the starter in '17, but didn't give an indication that the team would be moving away from Bortles, either.

Jack Del Rio will speak to the media bright and early at the combine next week. Especially for those tuning in from the West Coast.

One of biggest takeaways from Jaguars executive VP of football ops Tom Coughlin's news conference: the team needs to get much tougher physically and mentally. He stopped short of calling the team soft but said players need to do a better job of fighting through adversity, both with injuries and during games.

Free-agent-to-be Alan Branch told Sirius XM NFL Radio on Friday morning that his love for football has been "revamped" since joining the Patriots in 2014. It sounds like he prefers a return to New England in 2017 but also said in the interview, "If it's a significant difference (financially), sometimes it's hard to say no."
