The good news for the 49ers is they continue to get takeaways, coming up with a fumble at Seattle's 30. The bad news is takeaways seem to be the only way they can generate points and they settled for a field goal after the fumble recovery. Four of San Francisco's five scoring drives last week came after a turnover. Still have to find ways to get drives without the defense doing most of the work.

Marcus Mariota said he felt good about the last series. "Sometimes the ball just doesn't bounce your way."

Odell Beckham said he was given special warning before game. Surprised he wasn't kicked out for offensive PI call in fourth quarter.

Chargers' LB Manti Te'o out for rest of today's game with dreaded Achilles injury.

Jordan Raanan ESPN Staff Writer

Odell Beckham with a lot of "I don't remember" answers to questions, including if there was a lot of talk on the field.

Charles Sims runs in a touchdown at the goal line with a great block by Gosder Cherilus on the left as an extra lineman. Interestingly, they also had backup center/guard Evan Smith lining up as a fullback at the goal line. That's the first time I've seen them do that. The team's best run blocker, Luke Stocker, isn't playing today due to an ankle injury.

Mike Sando ESPN Senior Writer

The Chiefs need to clone Marcus Peters, who now has 12 INTs in his first 21 games, counting playoffs. Darrelle Revis had six INTs in his first 21 games (as did Deion Sanders, for that matter).

Eric D. Williams ESPN Staff Writer

Chargers announce Manti Te'o has an Achilles injury and is out for the game, third player to suffer Achilles injury this year, joining Branden Oliver and Jeff Cumberland.

Field Yates @FieldYates

For the first time in his young NFL career, Odell Beckham, Jr. has gone 4 straight games without a TD.

Alden Gonzalez ESPN Staff Writer

The Rams are already down two defensive linemen. Eugene Sims ejected for unsportsmanlike conduct. Earlier, Will Hayes was carted off the field with an ankle injury.

Adam Teicher ESPN Staff Writer

Dee Ford is back in the game for the Chiefs.

Paul Kuharsky ESPN Staff Writer

Titans running back DeMarco Murray elected not to talk after the game. We are told he will talk Monday.

Rich Cimini ESPN Staff Writer

The Jets, who struggled against the deep ball in the first two games, are getting nickel and dimed by the Chiefs. They don't seem prepared for the Chiefs' misdirection plays, formations and route combinations.

Alden Gonzalez ESPN Staff Writer

Fun game so far. Jameis Winston converted 4th and 1 on read-option, then Charles Sims runs it in from the 1. Bucs went 75 yards on nine plays.

Paul Kuharsky ESPN Staff Writer

Mike Mularkey said Titans decided Saturday not to play TE Delanie Walker. Walker said he thought it was smart decision, is hopeful he'll be good for practice Wednesday.

Jeremy Fowler ESPN Staff Writer

Steelers want to make Carson Wentz beat them vertically. Stopping the run early and covering the underneath stuff.

Darren Rovell @darrenrovell

Worst NFL beat today: 84% of the $ was on Dolphins to cover as 9.5 point favorites over Browns at the 108 William Hill books in Nevada.

Adam Teicher ESPN Staff Writer

The Chiefs have their first lead of the season of more than three points. Alex Smith' 12-yard touchdown pass to Travis Kelce has Kansas City ahead of the Jets 7-0. The Chiefs led for less than four minutes, and only 3-0 at that, in their first two games.
