The Vikings signed three players from the veteran combine, adding wideout Mitch Mathews and tight end Nick Truesdell while bringing Terrell Sinkfield back to their roster Sinkfield, a Northern Iowa product who was with the team as a wide receiver last year, was signed as a cornerback this time.

49ers general manager John Lynch attended Texas A&M pro day to see Myles Garrett on Thursday. Garrett is expected to go No. 1 overall but Niners doing their diligence with the second pick. Garrett told reporters that he has also planned a pre-draft visit to San Francisco.

"Head team physician Dr. Pat Connor performed surgery this morning at Carolinas Medical Center to repair Cam Newton's partially torn rotator cuff. Dr. Connor was pleased with the results of the surgery and Cam is at home resting. He will begin his rehab program Monday."

Updating the status of Seahawks safety Earl Thomas and WR Tyler Lockett, Pete Carroll said, "It's a little bit different. Tyler's a little bit ahead because of the surgery he had. Earl's doing really well. They'll be around and involved in a little bit of everything, but they won't be able to go full speed. We probably won't get either guy until [training] camp. I know Tyler wants to get back sooner than that. He may, but we'll see." Carroll added that he'd be "really surprised" if CB DeShawn Shead (knee) made it back for Week 1.
