Full details: RB Jonathan Stewart can now make up to $9.5M over the next two seasons after signing a 1-year extension with the team this past Friday, per a league source.
The deal, which has a base value of $8M, included $1.1M fully guaranteed at signing, with another $2.5M coming Stewart's way on Tuesday in the form of a roster bonus. The team created $2.075M in cap for 2017 with the deal, as his cap number dropped from $8.25M to $6.175M.
Stewart's 2017 base salary is now $1.1M (fully guaranteed), with a $250,000 workout bonus, plus $25,000 for each game he is on the 46-man game day roster (up to $400,000). He has a $1M roster bonus due on the first day of the 2018 league year, with a $1.9M base salary, a $250,000 workout bonus and $37,500 available for each game he is on the 46-man game day roster (up to $600,000).
Additionally, he can make up to $750,000 in incentives each season. If he rushes for more than 825 yards, he makes $250,000. If he rushes for more than 900 yards, that number increase to $350,000. If he rushes for more than 1,000 yards, that number increases to $500,000. If he rushes for more than 1,100 yards, he earns the full $750,000.
In sum, the base value of the deal is for $4.25M in 2017, $3.75M in 2018.
