Took all kinds of grief for saying Carson Wentz might be the best rookie QB I've seen in 14 years of tape breakdowns.

The Eagles used underneath smash routes (with an inside clear-out) on the Carson Wentz TD pass to Jordan Matthews. With the middle of the field open -- and Matthews working away from the defender's leverage -- Wentz could identify the target and get the ball out. Smart call in the red zone. Eagles jump to a 10-0 lead on the Steelers in the second quarter.

Wentz things are happening again. Steelers getting minimal pressure on the rookie. He's sitting back and waiting for guys to get open.

Will Hayes is back in the game, but DT Michael Brockers walked off the field gingerly. Musical chairs on the defensive line today.

Bucs safety Chris Conte recovered a fumble that Lavonte David knocked out of Kenny Britt's hands. Conte told me this week that they were so eager to get back out onto the field after the Arizona game. "That wasn't the team that we are." Bucs leading 13-10 with 8:46 to go in the first half. Approaching Rams territory right now.

The Eagles' offense appears designed for Carson Wentz's comfort (even though it was actually designed for Sam Bradford's). So many quick-hit options near the line of scrimmage, and he has clear command of them. Spreading Steelers' defense out for an early 10-0 lead here in Philly.

TOUCHDOWN EAGLES! Carson Wentz finds Jordan Matthews for the TD to give Eagles a 10-0 lead.

Said it earlier, saying it again - Carson Wentz may be the best rookie QB I've seen in 14 years of breaking down games.

The good news for the 49ers is they continue to get takeaways, coming up with a fumble at Seattle's 30. The bad news is takeaways seem to be the only way they can generate points and they settled for a field goal after the fumble recovery. Four of San Francisco's five scoring drives last week came after a turnover. Still have to find ways to get drives without the defense doing most of the work.

Marcus Mariota said he felt good about the last series. "Sometimes the ball just doesn't bounce your way."

Odell Beckham said he was given special warning before game. Surprised he wasn't kicked out for offensive PI call in fourth quarter.

Chargers' LB Manti Te'o out for rest of today's game with dreaded Achilles injury.

Jordan Raanan ESPN Staff Writer

Odell Beckham with a lot of "I don't remember" answers to questions, including if there was a lot of talk on the field.

Jenna Laine ESPN Staff Writer

Charles Sims runs in a touchdown at the goal line with a great block by Gosder Cherilus on the left as an extra lineman. Interestingly, they also had backup center/guard Evan Smith lining up as a fullback at the goal line. That's the first time I've seen them do that. The team's best run blocker, Luke Stocker, isn't playing today due to an ankle injury.

Mike Sando ESPN Senior Writer

The Chiefs need to clone Marcus Peters, who now has 12 INTs in his first 21 games, counting playoffs. Darrelle Revis had six INTs in his first 21 games (as did Deion Sanders, for that matter).

Eric D. Williams ESPN Staff Writer

Chargers announce Manti Te'o has an Achilles injury and is out for the game, third player to suffer Achilles injury this year, joining Branden Oliver and Jeff Cumberland.
