The Cowboys have restructured the contracts of All-Pro left tackle Tyron Smith and All-Pro center Travis Frederick, freeing up roughly $17.3 million, moving them under a proposed salary-cap of $168 million for 2017, according to sources. The total cap will be finalized by March 9 when the league year begins. The Cowboys turned roughly $21 million of the $24 million due Smith and Frederick into signing bonus to create the room. Smith was set to make $10 million in 2017, while Frederick was set to make $14.221 million.

DE Jared Odrick was due a $2 million roster bonus and would have had $3.5 million of his $6.5 million salary in 2017 guaranteed had he been on the Jaguars' roster on March 13. The move saves the Jaguars $8.5 million against the salary cap.

Wide receiver Victor Cruz, released by the New York Giants, is in Charlotte visiting with the Panthers, a league source confirmed.

The Jaguars have released DE Jared Odrick after just two seasons with the team. Odrick signed a five-year, $42.5 million contract with $22.5 million guaranteed in 2015.
