Jaguars QB Blake Bortles on his contract extension through 2020 season: “I think I definitely was looking forward to the opportunity of this happening and knowing that it was done and now in the rear-view mirror and we can move on and get back to just worrying about football and not having to deal with money and contracts and all that stuff. But I think either way, however this went I don't think it would have had a ton of effect on how I feel. Thrilled to be able to stay here and playing Jacksonville and fired up to continue to work with the guys that are here."

Tony Gonzalez was introduced at the 101 Banquet in Kansas City as this year‘s entrant into the Chiefs Hall of Fame. He's got a bigger award on tap early next year when he's eligible to be picked for the Pro Football Hall of Fame. "It's going to be great, a party," Gonzalez said. " i'll bring everybody out. I'm looking forward to it, if I get inducted, if I get my name called. I can't wait. I've been there a bunch. I've been to Marcus (Allen's) speech. I saw Warren (Moon's) speech. I've been there one other time too. I've been there three times, I think it would be great to be a part of it."

If Jaguars QB Blake Bortles hits the incentives in his impending new deal it'll be worth $22.2 million annually. The three-year extension is worth $54 million and up to $66.5 million with those incentives. Without the incentives, the deal averages $18 million annually. That puts him just behind Miami's Ryan Tannehill ($19.25 million) in terms of average salary in 2018. For reference, Jimmy Garoppolo has the highest APY at $27.5 million. Tom Brady, by the way, has an APY of $15 million.

Rams coach Sean McVay, in Kansas City for the annual 101 Banquet, wouldn't go into detail about acquiring quarterback Marcus Peters from the Chiefs. "Right now, just because of where we are in the league year, we can't make it official," McVay said. "We have to be careful because of some of the tampering things. March 14 hopefully will be able to talk about that." McVay then paused, smiled and said, "But he's a great player." McVay was being honored at the 101 for being the NFC coach of the year.

The Rams' Aaron Donald, in Kansas City for the annual 101 Banquet, said he's "definitely excited" Los Angeles acquired cornerback Marcus Peters from the Chiefs. "I definitely know he's a playmaker. I'm excited he's with us," Donald said. Donald is being honored as the NFC defensive player of the year.

Been doing some digging on Marcus Peters today, and I believe that if there's any organization — any locker room — that can absorb that personality and maximize that talent, it's the Rams. Respected defensive coordinator (Wade Phillips), magnetic head coach (Sean McVay), and a contending team that resides only drive away from Peters' hometown of Oakland. Gotta think he'll be motivated and on his best behavior in 2018 — first year with a new team, and an important one in his rookie contract. But it's no certainty, of course.
