Jets CEO Christopher Johnson on David Harris: "David Harris operated at the highest standard for both performance and professionalism and is as fine a person as you will ever meet. His endurance, intelligence and reliability were his trademarks and he was always there for his teammates. With all of those qualities, what stands out most to me is the humility and selflessness with which he approached each day. I wish him and his family the absolute best that life has to offer and they will always have a home with the New York Jets."

The Seahawks have announced several more changes to their coaching staff, all but one of which had been reported. The previously unreported change is the addition of Steve Shimko as offensive assistant. The the two other additions: Jethro Franklin replaces Dwaine Board as assistant defensive line coach and Larry Izzo replaces Heath Farwell as assistant special teams coach (Farwell took a job with the Panthers). Seattle also moved Dave Canales to quarterbacks coach. He replaces Carl Smith, who will remain on staff as an associated head coach. Nate Carroll, Pete Carroll's son, takes over for Canales as receivers coach. He was previously the assistant receivers coach.
