Saints RB Alvin Kamara said he understood the decision to take him out of last week's loss at Atlanta with a concussion. But he said it was hard for him (and apparently his fantasy owners) to miss most of the game after he was off to a hot start.

The Patriots had free agents DB Chandler Fenner (Holy Cross), DB Jonathon Mincy (Auburn) and LB Kacy Rodgers (Miami) in for workouts. The team regularly brings in free agents to keep emergency lists fresh, and at this time of year, to sometimes lay the foundation for 2018 future contracts.

Video: Russell Wilson calls Rams defensive tackle Aaron Donald probably the best defensive player he's ever faced in a game. Wilson said former 49ers linebackers Patrick Willis and NaVorro Bowman are up there as well.

Saints RB Alvin Kamara practiced fully again Thursday as all signs point to him returning from his concussion Sunday against the Jets. And WR Ted Ginn Jr. returned to practice on a limited basis with his rib injury Thursday, giving him a potential chance to play. But LB A.J. Klein (groin) and DE Trey Hendrickson (ankle) remained out of practice, leaving their status in doubt.

Tom Brady on why he has been at practice both days this week after taking at least one practice off for extra treatment each of the prior three weeks: "I'm just feeling better. It's a short week so just try to get out there and practice. Like I said, I take it week to week and I feel really good this week. So I'm very happy about that."
