Full inactive list: WR Sterling Shepard (illness) CB Eli Apple QB Davis Webb LB B.J. Goodson (ankle) LB Calvin Munson (quad) OL Justin Pugh (back) G D.J. Fluker (toe) Jon Halapio starts for Fluker. Chad Wheeler for Pugh.

It should help the Redskins' defense that Giants quarterback Eli Manning ranks 29th in the NFL in yards per pass attempt at 6.24 yards. The Redskins won't have speedy young safety Montae Nicholson available, but with a banged-up line and depleted receiving corps, New York will struggle to challenge Washington deep.

Jordan Raanan ESPN Staff Writer

Sterling Shepard (illness) officially inactive. CB Eli Apple also a healthy scratch for second straight game.

John Keim ESPN Staff Writer

The Redskins will be without 60 percent of their original starting offensive line, their top tight end (Jordan Reed) and most dynamic running back (Chris Thompson). Even if the Redskins had finished the upset in New Orleans, they would be in trouble the rest of the season because of their health.

John Keim ESPN Staff Writer

It's not surprising that Trent Williams can't play Thursday. He's been dealing with knee issues since and it's been hard for him to play in a regular week. Ty Nsekhe will take his place.

John Keim ESPN Staff Writer

Redskins inactives: tackle Trent Williams, safety Montae Nicholson, tight end Jordan Reed, center Chase Roullier, linebacker Martrell Spaight, defensive lineman Caraun Reid and defensive lineman Terrell McClain.

The announced crowd of 93,012 is starting to file out of AT&T Stadium. The Cowboys are about to fall to 2-4 at home this season.

One concern for the Redskins with the defensive injuries: communication. Losing linebackers Mason Foster and Will Compton have hurt this area -- and coaches know it's shown up big-time in hurry-up or two-minute situations. It's a concern. They've lost more talented players, but they do miss both these players.

Dak Prescott sees Desmond King return an interception 90 yards for a Los Angeles touchdown. It's the second straight game a Prescott turnover was returned for a score. He had a sack/fumble returned by Philadelphia.

John Keim ESPN Staff Writer

The Redskins must pound the ball with running back Samaje Perine. The Giants' run defense ranks 24th in yards per carry allowed. In the last three games, the Giants have allowed 4.77 yards per carry.

With that 42-yard completion to Keenan Allen for a score, Philip Rivers eclipsed the 400-yard passing mark and has 416 on the day. The last time Rivers threw for over 400 passing yards was on Oct. 18, 2015 when he threw for 505 yards in a 27-20 loss at Green Bay.

Todd Archer ESPN Staff Writer

Any idea why Terrance Williams slid on his 38-yard catch?

Tristan H. Cockcroft ESPN Senior Writer

Keenan Allen is the first wide receiver to score 30-plus PPR fantasy points in consecutive weeks since Brandon Marshall in 2015 Weeks 12-13.

Matt Bowen ESPN Staff Writer

Keenan Allen now up to 154 yards (on 10 receptions) after that TD reception. Just a basic out cut. Then take advantage of the poor angles from the Cowboys secondary to get to the end zone.

Alden Gonzalez ESPN Staff Writer

Apologies, but I made a typo on an earlier post: CB Nickell Robey-Coleman probably won't play; Kayvon Webster probably WILL play. Lamarcus Joyner and Blake Countess are options to fill in for Robey-Coleman in the slot.

Matt Bowen @

Just an out route on the Keenan Allen TD. Lot of poor angles to the ball in that Dallas secondary. Allen now at 154 yards on 10 grabs.

Todd Archer ESPN Staff Writer

Ballgame. Keenan Allen with a 42-yard touchdown catch in which he sidestepped four would-be tacklers. The Chargers have scoring drives of 77, 92 and 75 yards in three second-half possessions.

Bill Barnwell @

A healthy Keenan Allen is so good that even the Chargers can't screw him up

So, now that Everson Griffen and his wife welcomed their third child, they want your help: What should his name be? es.pn/2A3N1aw

The Saints' secondary is looking awfully thin. CB Marshon Lattimore (ankle) and CB Ken Crawley (abdomen) both missed practice Thursday for the second straight day, leaving their status in doubt for Sunday's game at the Rams. The Saints signed two veteran cornerbacks this week as a failsafe, but losing both starters at the same time would be a serious blow -- especially against the Rams' potent offense.
