Asked whether he fears for his safety when he goes on the road, 49ers QB Colin Kaepernick said he didn't think that would be an issue. "(I'm) not really too concerned about that," Kaepernick said. "At the end of the day, if something happens, that's only proving my point."

49ers QB Colin Kaepernick said he will continue to sit during the national anthem. "I'll continue to sit," Kaepernick said. "I'm going to continue to stand with the people that are being oppressed. To me this is something that has to change. When there's significant change and I feel like that flag represents what it's supposed to represent, this country is representing people the way that it's supposed to, I'll stand."

49ers QB Colin Kaepernick spoke to reporters for nearly 20 minutes today about his decision to sit during the national anthem. During the discussion, Kaepernick touched on times he and friends have been harassed by police, his explanation for how the decision to do this evolved, the presidential election, why he did it alone and whether he fears for his safety on the road. "People don't realize what's really going on in this country," Kaepernick said. "There are a lot things that are going on that are unjust. People aren't being held accountable for. And that's something that needs to change. That's something that this country stands for freedom, liberty and justice for all. And it's not happening for all right now."

Deiontrez Mount rates as the one semi-surprise in Titans early cuts. The outside linebacker was a sixth-rounder out of Louisville last year and torn an ACL, appearing in just four games. Has some rush skills. Not much of edge-setter in the run game yet.

Both Chris Banjo and Jayrone Elliott, who sustained pulled hamstrings in San Francisco, believe they've avoided major injuries, but availability for Week 1 remains unknown. Banjo said the turf was soft at Levi's Stadium, but he didn't think it contributed to his injury.

Vikings center John Sullivan got the day off, coach Mike Zimmer said, because the team needed to get a longer look at Joe Berger in the ongoing competition between the two. Tight end MyCole Pruitt will get an MRI on his leg. Initial tests didn't show anything on Antone Exum's leg after he was carted off, Zimmer said. Safety Michael Griffin was on crutches after the game; Zimmer said Griffin's back locked up on him.
