DeAndre Hopkins said its "motivating" when he was briefly on pace to break Calvin Johnson's single-season receiving record last year. He didn't break it, obviously, but he said you can't help but notice when you're getting close to it.

Having covered the Vikings since 1999, I am confident that the Slaughtered Cats Caper is one of their five most ridiculous stories ever.

Looked like Cardinals WR Michael Floyd (hamstring), LB Alex Okafor (calf) and DT Ed Stinston (toe) weren't at the open portion of practice today. CB Patrick Peterson (ribs) was back, as was TE Darren Fells and LT Jared Veldheer, who was wearing a paddle on his right hand. He fractured a finger against the Seahawks. WR John Brown looked ready to practice, as well.

David Newton ESPN Staff Writer

Panthers coach Ron Rivera sald Daryl Worley and Robert McClain would start at corner if everything stands as it is.

Eric D. Williams ESPN Staff Writer

David Newton ESPN Staff Writer

Panthers' injury report: DT Vernon Butler and CB Teddy Williams did not practice. CB James Bradberry remains limited. Coach Ron Rivera said Butler's ankle didn't react the way expected. He called it a setback.

Jeff Legwold ESPN Senior Writer

For Broncos today center Matt Paradis (hip), cornerback Aqib Talib (back) and linebacker Brandon Marshall (hamstring) are not practicing. Nose tackle Sylvester Williams (ankle) is in uniform and did some individual drills, but he looked as if he was going to be limited.

Katherine Terrell ESPN Staff Writer

Matt Bowen ESPN Staff Writer

Given the knee injury to Broncos RB C.J. Anderson, the fantasy value of rookie Devontae Booker is obviously going to rise. Booker is a good fit for the Broncos zone schemes, he hits the hole with speed and his finishing power really shows up on the tape. Owners should have confidence that Booker can step into the No.1 role and handle the increase in carries. With the very favorable upcoming matchups on the Broncos schedule, expect Booker to produce numbers.

Paul Gutierrez ESPN Staff Writer

Well, Jack Del Rio DID say he wanted the get the tight ends more involved this weekend against the Buccaneers. Here TE coach Bobby Johnson gives some practice tips.

Panthers cornerback Robert McClain just sold this piece of art he painted to quarterback Cam Newton. McClain was asking $140 and the NFL MVP gave him $200. Pays to bring your hobby to the locker room.

Jeff Legwold ESPN Senior Writer

Broncos do not yet know what C.J. Anderson's recovery time will be since today's arthroscopic surgery on his right knee will help determine if Anderson has a full or partial tear of the meniscus in the knee.

David Newton ESPN Staff Writer

If you thought Panthers cornerback Robert McClain just painted shoes, think again. Here are two of his paintings.
